Kanye West Hosts Listening Party for Upcoming Album, 'DONDA'

Hip-hop Twitter has been on fire as rumors spread that Kanye West is getting ready to drop his long-awaited album, DONDA, after holding a private invite-only listening party in Las Vegas this past weekend.

The album is dedicated to the rapper’s late mother, Donda West, who played a significant role in his career, as she was West’s manager in his early years.

The listening party was attended by some of Ye’s closest friends and A list celebrities, including Justin Laboy and Kevin Durant, who were both photographed with the rapper the day of the event. Justin Laboy tweeted some encouraging comments about the album, confirming the album’s release date will be dropping this Friday, despite Kanye’s habit of hyping albums without a release date in sight. "The production is light years ahead of its time, and the bars sound like he’s broke and hungry trying to get signed again.” the hip-hop socialite took to his Twitter after the event.

DONDA reportedly will feature the industry’s biggest acts from Tyler, the Creator, Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Post Malone, and more. Tyler and Kanye were photographed in the studio this weekend, with what appears to be the official tracklist of the upcoming project faintly in the background.

It is also rumored that Ye will be holding an official album release party at the end of the week in Atlanta at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where the rapper will play the album in its entirety for his fans and counterparts, much like he did for his The Life of Pablo album in 2016.

Fans are excited as Kanye enters a new era. Constantly evolving, Kanye west always finds new ways to reinvent himself. Whether it’s sonically, aesthetically, or even through his relationships, Kanye is a rap chameleon. Stay tuned for more on Kanye West and his upcoming album, DONDA! It should be a sight to see.
